Fallout 2 was the first one I played and to be honest, Fallout 3 was an enormous disappointment in a lot of ways for me. It doesn't even compare to the classic titles.

Maybe Bethesda brought the franchise back but in some ways... it would have been fine as it was...

Some things are better left dead...

Even if that means New Vegas wouldn't have existed? I don't know if you played that one but it's pretty good. It's essentially Van Buren (the cancelled Fallout 3 by Interplay) but with altered details and a different engine.

I've played it a bit. It's definitely better than Fallout 3, so I might continue it soon.

I didn't really mean that Fallout 3 is a bad game, because I've played the hell out of it and I absolutely love the things they did with it.

I just don't think it's of the same level of quality as Fallout 2 though, not nearly. One of the things I feel is that they didn't go all out with the adult tone of it. Things are hinted at, yes, like sex and drugs, but they are never as explicit as they were in Fallout 2 which is a bit of a disappointment. It's like they tried to meet halfway with the adult stuff and it feels kinda halfassed as a result.

and besides if it wasn't for Bethesda, the entire franchise might have been dead in the water.

This one really cracked me up, there was more than just Beth trying to buy this IP. If Obsidian or Troika had got the rights (they didn't have enough money to match Beth's) we would have got a proper Fallout game with some of the best designers in the game industry.

Have you even played NV? There's prostitutes, child soldiers, a quest involving finding a bunch of specialized prostitutes for clients (a smooth talking guy, a cowgirl ghoul and a sex robot named "Fisto"), people left hanging on crosses, slavers etc. etc.

As I said, I haven't played much of NV but I'm definitely getting a good impression so far. And I was talking about Fallout 3, not NV. I am aware they are not the same game, mind you.

Today I bought Zaxxon, Lylat Wars aka Star Fox 64, M/U/S/H/A and Alien Soldier on Wii Virtual Console.

Just got Vagrant Story for 6 bucks on the PS3 digital store. Not generally a big JRPG fan, but I'm enjoying it so far.

I got Metro 2033 for like 2 euro on Steam a few days ago. It's a great game so far. Sadly I got stuck on this one level that keeps crashing whenever I try to load it. So until I can find a solution there I can't continue :(

Happened to both myself and my friend, I fell through the world and then got autosaved under the map.

Go on the Steam forums, you just have to restart the map and be facing a certain direction when you crash.

Well no. I can't load the level. Whenever I try to load it(either through "Load Game" or "Continue") the program freezes and crashes halfway through the loading screen. This is odd because it worked absolutely flawlessly up until that point.

Have you tried loading the chapter entitled depot again? Not a previous save. (Don't press "New Game" though, I just overwrote my saved game testing that out).

Here's the thread to fix that bug- http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1199022
